What a night of severe weather. Two rounds of intense, tornado producing storms. Thousands without power, many homes and businesses damaged or totaled. Today we will do a full recap of this terrible night of storms.
RECAP
8:50 PM.....
A Tornado Warning was issued for Northern Dallas county. Intense rotation continued to grow as it slowly moved E/NE.
Around 9:00 PM.....
Another Tornado Warning was issued for parts of southern Collin County. Quarter size hail and strong 60 MPH wind gusts were pounding areas in northern Dallas and southern Collin County. Soon, a tornado was confirmed on the ground most likely between Tollway, Midway and Walnut Hill.

This tornado was the strongest one and the only confirmed one of the night in DFW. Many tornadoes were believed to also touch the ground in this mess but were never confirmed and never lasted longer than a minute or so.
Some Damage and Tornado pictures from WFAA. Here
This strong tornado also nearly devastated an entire Home Depot. Damage Surveys and clean up will begin today and continue through the next several weeks. This storm will leave an imprint on peoples lives, that's for sure.

Joshua, did you see this? Unbelievable.
Wow, loved your lightning show, cool! Excellent blog, this was one of the best ever! Pretty big story to tell last night and certainly appreciate you were up late keeping track of what was going on (a la Mr. Delkus)!🤣 Very scary...we are so blessed to have missed the damage here in West Plano. Praying for those who got hit. Great job keeping us apprised of all that was happening. The lights are back on, YAY!!
Amazing photos and amazing lightning show. We missed the tornado by about 7 miles. God protected us. However we lost power for over 20 hours. It’s amazing how much we depend on electricity. The Weather Center stays alert to keep us posted on all weather emergencies. Great job as always.
Love the blog! Keep those updates coming! I’ll need them especially in a couple of weeks!
An absolutely crazy storm last night! Cannot believe the path of destruction we’ve seen since waking up this morning. Scary. Sad. Great coverage all evening by Weather Center!
